Mining Industry

Since the early '80s, SouthRepps has supplied mining and related industries products. We have a strong track record for designing and manufacturing solid-liquid selection equipment, from PLS circuit clarifiers to potable water plants, for our clients. In addition, SouthRepps has worked with Waterex to optimise water reuse, feed water stocks, and recycling using barrier technology, media filters, and various other equipment.

SouthRepps has delivered pH correction, coagulant and flocculant dosing systems for many applications to meet environmental and processing requirements. We are experienced in handling organic products by using separation equipment, such as media and solvent extraction (SX) filters, and removing organic material through carbon filters. We use membrane technology such as reverse osmosis (RO) to meet high water quality requirements. We also offer electro deionisation (EDI) and sterilisation technology. In partnership with Waterex, we have become market leaders in solid-liquid separation equipment.

Agriculture Industry

Supplying agricultural equipment has been part of our operation since the '80s. Consequently, we are involved in water treatment for water recycling plants, stock water, irrigation and wash-down facilities. We have serviced many clients, from small farms and corporate holdings to large plants.

To meet the concerns from our clients regarding contaminants, including iron, slat and arsenic, we have supplied various filtration plants to cope with the water quality problems. Furthermore, our sterilisation technology has successfully been used worldwide to address biological and bacterial decontamination issues. Additionally, SouthRepps specialises in water recycling tailoring systems to the clients' demands. In partnership with Waterex, we have supplied different dosing solutions from fertilisers and herbicides to powder-based feedstock in the agricultural industry.

Oil & Gas

SouthRepps and our partners have supplied equipment into the oil and gas industry since 1990. Offering a wide and varied list of equipment, SouthRepps has moved away from focusing on particular equipment into the realm of solution providers. We know that all our clients have different water sources and product requirements, so we ensure that each solution is the best. From softening and ion exchange to electro de ionisation will aim to give you the water you desire.

Since the late 80's we have been assisting our clients and our partners in separating oils from their water or water from their oils. For example, SouthRepps worked with Waterex to develop unique technology to allow them to lift semi buoyant fractions out of a range of oil products. We have also worked with Waterex to deliver high-performance gas scrubbers to various industries.

Pulp & Paper

SouthRepp's entry into pulp and paper was in Africa in the '80s through our former parent organisation Water Engineering. Supplying pulp and paper plants across Southern Africa, we have over 40 years of experience treating black and white liquor from this vital industry.

Solids removal in the pulp and paper industry starts with fibres. We use our DAF Flotation technology as the best first step, often assisted with chemicals. We also used our clarifiers, particularly our Pin-Bed clarifier (PBC) technology, to settle the separated solids. SouthRepps has also used filtration, multimedia or even activated carbon filtration to continue to treat these streams.

In countries with stringent environmental requirements, we often use membrane technology such as ultrafiltration or RO to treat the internal waste streams to reuse the water sufficiently. In addition, we continue to advance our product range through experience and directed R&D efforts. As a result, we keep seeing vast improvements in the economics of water recycling, solids and colour removal, and even pH correction.
